I was born and raised in Perth Western Australia, with an affinity for all animals. My compassion led me to volunteer and foster for local dog rescue organisations. I embarked on a journey caring for a myriad of unwanted and unwell puppies and dogs. My commitment to animal welfare didn't stop at my homeland's borders. It propelled me across seas, where I was confronted with stark cases of animal abandonment and cruelty.
The profound impact of these experiences intensified my desire to make a difference. I initiated dog rescue missions in Bali, repurposing my holiday villas into safe sanctuaries for the voiceless.
As fate would have it, my life's journey sailed me towards the Caribbean, unveiling a new chapter of challenges and adventures. Amidst the beauty of these islands, I discovered a distressing reality of animal neglect, abuse, and suffering. The islands lack veterinarian resources, affordable pet food, basic parasite treatment, compounded by high cost of living and a prevalent indifference towards animal welfare. This dire situation turned our boat from a mere floating home into a vessel of hope and rescue, navigating through remote islands to reach animals in desperate need.
Motivated by the ongoing plight of these animals and to drive advocate, I established Sailing Paws Rescue. My rescue missions transcends to a call for action community-wide education and involvement to promote the humane treatment of all island dogs. Sailing Paws Rescue embodies our commitment for the voiceless, unit a global community in compassion and act to action.
